Is that at 4 1/2 years old I got an error message FE 31 and the cooktop is completely.
The Miele technician said a circuit board had failed and would need to be replaced, which cost over $800!! This product would be good if it could be relied upon. No noise or smoke or beeping.just completely stopped, with an error message displayed. One day over a month ago, it suddenly stopped working. We've only been light users of the cooktop. We've been using the KM 5955 Induction cooktop for a year or so, with the owners before us installing it less than 2 years prior. Extremely disappointed in what is supposed to be a premium brand that has as its selling point that it's reliable german engineering.
I don't want to have $1k repair bills hanging over my head every few years for an item you can't do without. We'll have it repaired as we're selling, but we're building our next house and we're going back to gas. They replaced a board of some sort and my wife has just fired it up this morning and it's come up with the FE31 error code.įor the thing to fry itself twice in 6 years is unacceptable. First time it went was just after 2 years of use. We've had a KM5955 for about 6 years now. Won't have Miele anything in the house now for the duration of my lifetime. After the last repair, I resolved not spend any money on repairs at all and am about to go and buy a new cooktop. Quite apart from this the slightest thing spilled on it caused to shut down make it incredibly frustrating to use. Heathcotes arranged a warranty repair, but now, about 2 years later the board has failed again. Bought the cooktop from Heathcote appliances and approx 18 months later the main board failed.
